Boxer

Paint gelding

Boxer was quite long simply because he was overdue for a trim.  We pulled his shoes and gave him a conservative setup trim, rolling his toes fairly aggressively, but leaving his heels a bit long.  He has an old injury to his left front lateral heel; it does not bother him, but leaves about a half inch gap you can see in the images.  His bars were quite overgrown; I took them to the existing sole plane for now.  We'll see what Boxer sheds out on his own in a couple of weeks and retrim accordingly.  Boxer was fitted for boots and pads for riding.

Very nice progress.  That damaged LF lateral heel makes it interesting: you have to imagine where the natural heel purchase would be and go from there; measure collateral groove depth where the modified heel is, and matching it to approximately the same position on the medial heel. He grows substantial bar on that side to compensate, which I am careful not to take away from him!
