Moses

Andalusian gelding

Talk about high heels...yikes!  Spend a little time on the Andalusian show circuit, and this seems to be the "style" for Andies.  Aaarrrggghhhhh!!!  I took very little heel for Moses' setup trim; lowering them dramatically would have been a mistake.  We will bring them down gradually over the next several trims.  Moses' frogs are fairly healthy, but need to compress -- they've grown long to reach the ground under those high heels.  I can't WAIT to see how Moses moves once we get his feet nicely barefoot and balanced.

Moses' heel height is coming under control quickly now that he's had a month to shed some sole, compress some frog, and adjust to being shoeless.  Chlorine dioxide soaks will help improve the overall health of Moses' feet.  Meanwhile, boots and pads are assisting his transition.

Things are changing!  The solar view shows the proportions of the hooves shifting gradually to a more natural shape, and the heels widening.
