Oro
Rest
in Peace, Oro. We will listen for your hoofbeats in heaven.

A little bit
of "forward foot syndrome," toes stretching forward and taking the
heels with them. Oro is also rather flat footed, his hoof walls
are thin, and his soles thin and shelly . His frogs are fairly
wide, although they are not particularly healthy or robust and will
benefit from soaking and working in boots and pads. Oro's heels
are not as contracted as one sees a lot of the time in newly de-shod
horses, so we should be able to grow a healthier foot pretty quickly;
the restored circulation will improve the quality of the hoof capsule
rapidly. It will take some time to develop the back of Oro's
feet; we need lots and lots of heel first landings!

Oro is
moving beautifully in his EasyBoot Epics. We still have along
way to go, but his wall quality has already improved. Need to do
some White lightening soaks to get those frogs healthier, and Oro will
be getting some body work done this month to try to pinpoint an issue
with the right hind leg.

Beautiful!
I was finally able to get Oro's heel height addressed; he shed out an
entire layer of sole and frog on his left front, and the right front
will probably do the same shortly. His toes are coming back
nicely, and his wall quality has improved tremendously. Things
are looking MUCH more balanced on all four feet; his front feet are
starting to become rounder. Oro was a VERY good boy for his trim
today!

Oro's
excellent progress continues. His toes are finally back to a
respectable place, and his frog health is much improved. I'd
still like to see more sole depth, but that will come....we're getting
there!
