Rocky

TWH gelding

What a personality!  Rocky had a great time plucking my hoof pick out of my back pocket no less that eight times during his first trim.  He was a little worried when he saw my farrier's tools, but quickly warmed up and proved to be quite the engaging little character.

Hoof-wise, Rocky shows signs of chronic thrush:  narrow, emaciated frogs, and pronounced bars.  His hoof capsules are elongated, on the verge of becoming long toe/low heel.  He had adequate collateral groove depth, though, and good quality wall, with just a bit of separation.  Rocky is a classic easy-keeping gaited horse, so keeping an eye on his diet and being proactive should metabolic issues become evident is critical!
