Sport, 6 yo APHA gelding

I think Sport will have an easy transition to barefoot.  Although his toes on all four feet are very long, he is not yet underrun like we typically see.  He appears to have good sole depth, but there was fungus under the sole that shed out today, so whether the existing sole will callous quickly and adequately will remain to be seen.  He is slightly imbalanced mediolaterally on all four feet.  He has a pretty crusty old injury at the coronary band on his right front, lots of proud flesh and still weepy, that bears watching.  His frogs/heels are wide, but his frogs are soft and a bit fungus-y; that will improve with ground contact, but he may benefit from a White Lightening soak as well.

It's going to take some time to get those runaway toes under control, but the shape of Sport's front feet is already changing dramatically!  The wound on the right front coronary band has grown about halfway down the wall, and is threatening to become an issue, so we're keeping a close eye on it, and will implement some Oxine soaks this week to make sure fungal/bacterial issues don't complicate matters.
